Banqueting House

This fascinating building offers a haven of tranquility amidst the bustle of Westminster. Designed by Inigo Jones in 1619, the Banqueting House is all that survives of the Palace of Whitehall, that was destroyed by fire in 1698.

It has been the scene of many historic events including the execution of Charles I and restoration of Charles II. Features include magnificent ceilings painted by Rubens in 1635 and the Undercroft, where James I used to retreat from the commotion of court life. 

Opened Mon-Sat 1000-1700. May be closed at short notice for Government functions.  

Admission is £4 for adults, £3 for children (prices subject to change, please phone for up to date prices).  Audio tour included in admission price.

Westminster/ Charing Cross Tube

Ce fascinant batiment offre un endroit tranquille au milieudes animations de Westminster.

Ouvert du lundi au samedi de 10h00 a 17h00. Il peut etre ferme pendnt une petite periode par le gouvernement.

L'entree est de 4£ pour les adultes et 3£ pour les enfants (les prix peuvent changer).
