Cabinet War Rooms

 

Acting as the "nerve centre of Britain's war effort", the Cabinet War Rooms (a former government storage basement) served as the headquarters for Winston Churchill during World War Two.  In addition, it offered underground emergency accommodation to protect the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, his War Cabinet and the Chiefs of Staff against bombing raids. 

Visitors can step back in time and see twenty one rooms which have been kept virtually untouched since the1940s.

Opened Apr-Sept daily 0930-1800, Oct-Mar 1000-1800. Closed 24-26 Dec. 

Admission is £5 for adults, £3.60 for students, free for children (prices subject to change, please call for up to date prices).
