On the Southbank of River Thames, just a short walk across the bridge from Big Ben and underneath the London Eye you will find the London Aquarium. The massive Pacific and Atlantic tanks span three stories and hold nearly two million litres of water between them, not to mention several sharks. Each tank offers an explanation of the type of fish and using maps, shows which geographical area it is found the fish is found in. Visitors can stroke manta rays and touch starfish, crabs and anemones. Other highlights include the ultra-violet-lit jellyfish tank, feeding the piranhas and the imaginative coral reef and rainforest zones. Opened daily 1000-1800 (last entry 1700).
