- London Radio
UK radio stations are either funded by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) or are independent. The BBC is partly funded by the television licence, while
independent radio stations are funded by the adverts they carry, typically four to six slots (of 3 or 4 adverts) an hour.
Almost all stations broadcast 24 hours a day. Most independent stations carry news on the hour provided by IRN- Independent Radio News. Read
the Radio Times (available at newsagents on Wednesday) for detailed programme information and a listing of frequencies.
