-
- Is your hotel managed by the Studios92.com Ltd?
- No.
Studios92.com Ltd makes bookings for us and they do check our facilities regularly to ensure that our standards of cleanliness, etc are maintained so that they can
continue to recommend us. They also use our facilities for their own guests when they are over booked, which often happens during the summer.
-
- Do you pick us up from the tube station like
Studios92.com Ltd do?
- No. As Gainsborough Studio's guests stay for lengths of one week to several months, it is in their interest to have them picked up. The Gower is, however,
conveniently located within walking distance of Paddington station (2 minutes), which is accessible via tube from all airports and the trains.
- By the way, did you know that if 3 people are travelling together, it's cheaper to take a taxi then taking the trains plus the tubes ( from Gatwick airport, Stansted
airport, Luton airport & City airport, BUT NOT from Heathrow)?
-
- Do you have a pick up service from Airports?
- No. However, we can recommend the cheapest taxi company in London. Just go to www.studios92.com and follow the taxi pick-up link for more details. Be aware that while some
cab companies advertise discounts and savings, the company recommended on our homepage is STILL cheaper than the rest even after their discounts. When booking your room you may request us to
arrange this taxi service for you, or we can give you their number to call them directly.
-
- Do you have free parking?
- We do not have private parking, but there is plenty of street parking available. Please be aware, however, that many of the spaces in central London do require a coin
deposit.
-
- Do you ask for any payment in advance, before arrival?
- No. The credit card is simply used to secure the booking. You pay on arrival.
-
- Is the bill payable on arrival or departure? And can I pay by credit card?
- Total bill is due on arrival, because we don't have extra costs (like phone calls, mini bar) so we know and you know the exact cost of the total bill ahead of time. Major
credit cards are accepted, as well as cash and traveler's cheques in British Pounds.
-
- What happens if I don't have a credit card?
- A credit card is required to secure your booking. You may use somebody's else CC (with their permission) to hold the room, and pay cash on arrival. If you fail to turn up,
however, the card will be charged for the first night to cover the loss.
-
- What about discounts? when? how?
- Applications of discounts will vary depending on the time of year, holidays, the number of people in your group, and the duration of your stay. Most of our discounts will
be advertised on the web page. Ask when making the booking.
-
- What is VAT and is it included in the rates?
VAT stands for Value Added Tax. All Studios92 rates are inclusive of VAT, unless otherwise stated. Effectively this means that the room rate quoted is the total price for the
room, and taxes or service charge will not be added to your bill.
-
- Are there any extra costs I should be aware off? I usually don't like surprises.
- Whatever price we give you, it's the final price, all inclusive, tax inclusive, no nasty little extras showing up later.
-
- Do you have a computer I can use in your Hotel?
- Unfortunately, we don't have those facilities. We recommend "Easy Everything", a chain of internet cafes with locations all over London. The closest to the Falcon
are at Tottenham Court Road or south Kensington. Last time I checked it was only one pound per hour (Past 11pm/midnight it is £1 for about 6 hours!!).
-
- Can I receive an e-mail while staying at your hotel, without having to go to an internet cafe?
- Yes, your friends or business can send an e-mail or fax to
Studios92.com Ltd, and they will fax it to us. Just make sure that the sender includes the name of your hotel
and room number with the email or fax so that Gainsborough knows where to find you.
-
- How fast do you answer e-mails?
- Most e-mails are answered within hours by
Studios92.com ltd, definitely by overnight. For the fastest response, either call us or use our secure server to make a booking
on-line. Be sure to include your e-mail address, telephone, and fax numbers, so we can contact you to give you confirmation and a reference number.
